Cat Surrender Assistance
We understand this may be a difficult decision. Please share as much information as possible so our team can review your request with care and compassion.
🐾 Review Process
Surrender requests are reviewed individually and are not automatically approved.
🏠 Capacity Matters
Acceptance depends on foster availability, shelter space, and the medical and behavioral needs of the cat.
📋 Please Note
Do not bring a cat to the shelter unless you have been contacted by our team and given approval.
Helpful Information to Include
- ✔️ How long you have had the cat
- ✔️ The reason you are requesting surrender
- ✔️ Complete medical history and known health concerns
- ✔️ Behavior around adults, children, cats, dogs, and other animals
- ✔️ Whether the cat is indoor only, outdoor, or indoor/outdoor
- ✔️ Current veterinary records, including proof of rabies vaccination
Please note: cats without current proof of rabies vaccination will not be accepted unless a licensed veterinarian provides documentation confirming that vaccination is not medically appropriate. Veterinary verification that rabies vaccination is current may be required before a surrender request can be approved.
If the cat is a community cat, feral, or part of an outdoor colony, our TNVR program may be a better fit.
